The Longest Night

This is an artwork for the art challenge called "The Longest Night" by the Hellebore Collective .

I imagined a little story for it:

'The girl clenched the handle of the lantern, afraid to loose because of the wind. She didn't know how long she had walked, but the freezing numbness crawling up her legs said she could not go on much longer...
"I have to keep walking..." the young woman, pregnant with her first child, muttered in her scarf. '

I wanted something more painterly than what I usually do, and I think it turned out okay
